Localized Gravity with Higher Curvature Terms

چکیده

In the intersecting brane configurations with any number n of extra dimensions, we obtain a localized gravity on the n orthogonal non-solitonic or solitonic (n+2)-branes in the presence of higher curvature terms. In the presence of such terms there would exist a non vanishing brane tension at the four-dimensional brane intersection of the (2 + n)-branes. The effective 4d Planck scale MP l is determined in terms of the fundamental scale M∗ and the AdS curvature scale k −1. With explicit expression of graviton propagator at hand, we find the power law correction to Newtonian gravity on the brane. As examples, we discuss some aspects of the localized gravity in AdS6 space, the solitonic 4-brane solution in AdS6 and 5-brane solution in AdS7.

We study a gravity model where a tensionful codimension-one threebrane is embedded in a bulk with infinite transverse length. We find that 4D gravity is induced on the brane already at the classical level if we include higher-curvature (Gauss-Bonnet) terms in the bulk.
